Symptoms
Files with names such as link.qtl and link-1.qtl appear on desktops of machines using montage after viewing videos in full screen.
Cause
When view full screen is clicked, the web browser downloads a small file that is used by the quicktime player to access the video over the network and display it full screen.
Solution
Users can configure where on the hard drive downloaded files are saved. This can be in safari under Preferences > General. There is a combo box labeled “save downloaded files to:”.
