Computers in our district aren't adequately equipped with audio peripherals, particularly microphones. Oftentimes, the communications equipment available is simply a telephone. The inability to engage participants using the telephone for audio, limits SML. It would be nice to see this limitation resolved.

Here at CPS, we have used other systems that rely on telephones for the audio portion of a web/video conference. We actually prefer using the interanal audio associated with SAFARI Live because it gives us an all in one solution. Also - we typically use SAFARI Live in classrooms, most of which do not have telephones. Peripherals can be a problem, but we have recommended standards (ie a digital video camera, and a room mic/speaker combo) that cost less than $500 per school. Lesser quality peripherals that are adequate can be obtained for under $100.
