Making bookmarks work like video segments

We have run into a few limitations with bookmarks:

1)  We would like to be able to move bookmarks between playlists.

2)  We would like to be able to assign a unique name to bookmarks instead of having to make a unique playlist name.

3)  We would like to be able to create a permanent link for the bookmark itself, instead of creating a unique playlist.

4)  When playing a bookmark, clicking the link for the bookmark ( as opposed to the green >) takes you to the video title as does the link for the video title. If you click play at this point, the entire video plays. This is confusing to the teachers. It seems like the link for the bookmark should take you to the video with the bookmarked section ready to play

Thank you,

Thanks for the feedback Pam. Regarding your questions/comments-

1)Here’s another instance where your suggestion about dragging and dropping clips from one playlist to another would be helpful! While we do not support that now, you can use Copy or Merge to get an existing bookmark into a new playlist.

2)You can currently assign a unique name to a bookmark. Once you have created your bookmark and have added it to your playlist you can change its name. Just click on the Comment button under the clip and you can edit the segment title or name of the bookmark.

3)I agree. That would be very helpful. We have already passed on that suggestion and hope to see it implemented in an upcoming release.

4)You are right. The title itself and the green arrow have different behaviors. I think that is a training item. We tell people to always click the green arrow when you want to play video. Clicking elsewhere –the title of the clip or the name of the show it comes from- always takes you back to the title page for the complete video.

Hope this helps!
