Our Solar System

I believe that I should win because I use these mostly short videos in conjunction with my flipcharts and Google Earth to take students on a journey like no other! The students will read aloud a section, then I ask some questions to get them thinking. Once they are interested in the planet, I play the short video about it. After it has finished playing, I then open up Google Earth to fly them to the planet to take a tour. This is a great lesson that engages the students in a way that all students are awake and paying attention! Sometimes if you use the longer videos, you can lose the students but with the short video, read, discuss, Google Earth, repeat; it works great! I also use the Active Board software to stop and illustrate on the videos which engages the students even more! If only my teachers had this technology and resource when I was in school, I can only imagine how much more I would have learned!
