We just returned from ISTE 2010 in Denver. It was a great event and we saw customers from across the United States, from Hawaii to Maine and everywhere in between.
We started things off with a new event; a customer dinner held the night before ISTE started. Customers, old and new, joined us for an evening of fine food and great conversation. It was a chance to catch up with friends and colleagues from Loudon County, Virginia, Baltimore County, Maryland, and Keller ISD, Texas. As well as a night to meet new friends from Lubbock ISD, Texas, Oakland USD and Bishop O’Dowd High School in California.
Tim Beekman, our President, was spectacular once again. He delivered two product development breakfast sessions. For the first time, we delivered the sessions via SAFARI Montage Live! (SML), giving districts a chance to join and provide their feedback, even though they could not make it to ISTE. Beyond the development breakfasts, Tim spent the remainder of ISTE in back to back meetings with customers. We set up our suite with the complete range of existing and upcoming modules of the SAFARI Montage solution. Once again we took advantage of SML to allow customers to join from across the U.S.
Geoff Watson and I had the privilege of presenting with Promethean in their Solution Suite. We continue to expand our great partnership with Promethean, helping customers understand how they can bring our two dynamic solutions together. Geoff is well on his way of becoming a movie star. I believe he will be appearing in two different Promethean video segments. We will be sure to get them posted here on HDNetwork.
We continue to strengthen our partnerships with companies that share the same educational focus and vision. BenQ and Motorola joined us in hosting a customer reception on the second night of ISTE. The reception brought customers together from all three companies to learn about all of our solutions and have a great evening of food and drinks. I want to say thank you to Jim, Chris and the entire team from Video Reality in Oklahoma. They stepped up at the last minute to provide us with Smart Interactive technology for our booth.
Kudos to our fantastic booth presenters this year. Shannon Yeager, Monica Lopez and Dana Magenau were incredible. They deliver non-stop presentations for three straight days. This year we set up two presentation theaters to allow customers the chance to not only receive a general overview of the SAFARI Montage solution, but get a chance to drill down into the details. Special thanks to our CEO, Andrew Schlessinger, who took his turn presenting and providing customers with a look at the future of SAFARI Montage: Digital Curriculum Presenter. Stay tuned for more information about Digital Curriculum Presenter in the coming weeks.
If you missed this time, come find us next year at FETC, TCEA, or in our backyard at ISTE 2011 in Philadelphia.
