Introducing....Alvarado Independent School District

In early 2009, Alvarado ISD was utilizing a streaming video service for its digital content. Julie Holland, AISD’s Instructional Technology Coordinator, recalled that while teachers liked the availability of digital content, there were some aspects of the streaming service that they did not like. After seeing SAFARI Montage at conferences and at a demo done at Keller ISD, AISD decided to do a pilot program. The response from the teachers was absolutely overwhelming, and it was the driving force behind the decision to go with SAFARI Montage.

A Holiday Gift of Hundreds of Videos FOR YOU!

Back then, it was VHS tapes, and I was reminded of a particular series dating from 1985 while watching the movie Julie and Julia. The series was Julia Child’s “The Way to Cook.” It was exceptional, although more for public libraries than for schools, which ultimately became our exclusive focus.

Teaching the iGeneration: Integrating Digital Content into Instruction

In today’s world many teachers are starting to integrate more and more digital content into instruction. With SAFARI Montage teachers do not have to download internet content the night before class and hope it will play the next day! Our content is not streamed from the internet but instead we use a file sharing process, where the content is provided on a server that “lives” in your school building or district. What this means to you as a teacher is with one click, from one interface, you can access thousands of digital assets to include in teaching.

TVs in the Classroom Are Dead – Long Live the Projector!

In this new age of the digital student, multimedia and interactive curriculum, there are two ways to engage students -- either give each of them a computer or outfit each classroom with a projection device that displays the information so that it is large enough for everyone to see. The latter is the direction we chose at Garland ISD when looking towards the future.

CreationStation Delivers for Administrators

Our high school was fortunate to have been selected by the Baltimore County Public School's Office of Library and Information Service to receive CreationStation.
